Ceramics Studio
The build-out of a 900 square foot space above a two car garage to function as a ceramics studio. With an all-cedar interior, the studio serves an artist who hand builds clay sculptures. The flexible wall of shelving allows for shelves to be removed and used as work boards and to then be returned to the wall without having to handle a wet clay piece. The desk is complete with a built-in clay recycling system and is on casters to allow for flexible working layouts. The second floor studio volume is surrounded by a galvanized trellis structure which will receive a varied mix of native vegetation so that a species will be in bloom at every time of the year.
